Gwynfor Evans and Marian Delyth
In time for St David's Day 2002, Y Lolfa has published Cymru
o Hud.
This is the conclusion of a ten year project between politician
and author Gwynfor Evans, and Blaenplwyf based photographer,
Marian Delyth, and is by far the most ambitious title that
Y Lolfa has published to date.
Cymru o Hud is an exploration of
the relationship between Welsh

history and the landscape. Delyth Prys, who reviewed the book for
the magazine Barn, said, "It's more than a book full of pretty
pictures, it's also a travel guide and a history book
[the photographs]
whet your appetite and entice you to travel to these special
places yourself, they also give us a look at Wales from a new perspective."
Gwynfor Evans has devoted his life to the cause of political freedom
for his country. He was Plaid Cymru's first member of parliament,
and the party's President from 1945 to 1981. Born in Barry in 1912,
he trained in law, but then combined market gardening with an influential
political career. He is the author of the classic account of Welsh
history, The Land of My Fathers, and has published four other books
with Y Lolfa.
Marian Delyth works as a graphic designer and photographer. She
was born and she still lives in Ceredigion. A central figure in
the Welsh arts scene, she has won praise and recognition in her
field, including a scholarship from the Welsh Arts Council and a
Tir Na nOg prize.
